Built in 1939, the distillery of essential oils has been managed since 1994 by Philip SOGUEL.
Grounded on the heritage of a traditional knowledge, the distillery has plans for the future and want to be part of a dynamic local agricultural economy.
Just like the Olive-Tree ot the Vine, aromatic and scent plants are typical of this land and keeping them alive means preserving the soul of Provence.
Renovated in 2000, three stainless-steell « vases » or steampot of 2200 liters, a straw and low-pressure boiler with brick-furnace, a high-pressure boiler are the main equipements of the distillery.
From May to September, the distillation of plants with steam enables to obtain typical essential oils.
A great care in the organisation of the harvest together with the attention of Philip, the distiller, gives its worth to this work of patience and passions.
To complete this knowledge and help him to resolve technical difficulties, Philip can rely on the « CRIEPPAM » ( Experimentation Comittee of the plants company ). Each year, he takes part to training sessions in order to keep the best tecnical level and he can transmit you the main ideas of this Savoir-Faire.
